There are a few different steps to consider before placing your Hotpoint fridge freezers in a certain place in you home. You will first want to find a place for your fridge that is away from anything hot, like a source of heat, and that allows enough room for ventilation. The desired space would be around 4 inches for those of you in America and 100mm for those of you elsewhere.
The next step would be to move the Hotpoint unit into the place that you have found for it. Make sure that you move it by the sides of the cabinet. This will help you from damaging the unit. You also want to make sure you don’t hit anything in the process of moving it. This can cause cosmetic damage. So be careful!
The next step is to level the Hotpoint fridge freezer by adjusting the feet on the front of the unit. You can do this by turning them to move up or down. This will stop the unit from rocking from side to side. This part is very important do not skip it.
The next step is to make sure you allow the fridge freezer to sit in one position without moving it for around 15 min. This will give it a chance to settle and for you to make sure its safe. Then proceed to plug the unit in the wall.
Next, after you plug the unit in, make sure that you switch it on. Then allow a while for the fridge to cool. I would say around an hour before the first use of it. Depending on the model that you have, there will probably be a light that tells you when it is safe to add food.
Next if you are using the freeze for fresh food, then you need to press the button called fast freeze. This will ensure that the freezer will get as cold as it can as fast as it can. So you will have to wait until it is done. This should be no more than 24 hours.
Last if the fridge is not working properly and keeping everything cool like normal Hotpoint fridge freezers would, then you will want to consult the troubleshooting section in your manual.
